Add-Ons to Improve Productivity & Protection

PlanetMagpie recommends using these Office 365 Add-ons:

  • Backups: Office 365 has built-in geo-redundancy (copying your data between multiple data centers), but that's not really usable as a backup. You'll need a full backup solution, with cloud backups built-in, to truly preserve your Office 365 data. More details here: Do You Need to Backup Files on Office 365?

  • Email Archival:  Many businesses must archive their emails for compliance purposes.  Office 365 does include basic archive capability, but to meet complex regulations like SOX, you'll need the Intradyn add-on.  Built for business and government, Intradyn collects all sent and received emails.  It also provides for legal holds, eDiscovery, and granular retention policies.

  • Malware/Spam Filtering:  When it comes to keeping spam and malware out, more protection is better.  Office 365 does employ some spam/malware protection, but third-party add-ons make it stronger.  Add-ons like Vircom quarantines suspicious emails and strips their links, making them "unclickable."  Users can release legitimate emails from quarantine, but emails with malware or obvious spam don't ever reach their inbox.

  • Professional Email Signatures:  Create consistent, professional e-signatures for all company emails with CodeTwo.  This add-on runs server-side for easy management, and integrates with Active Directory to make updating all e-signatures "one-click" simple.  CodeTwo guarantees every employee has a branded, uniform email signature on every email they send out, regardless of which email client they use.
